Cathodic Protection Systems - Installation & Evaluation
Cathodic Protection (CP) is a preventive electrochemical technique used to control the corrosion of metallic structures in conductive environments. CP systems safeguard assets such as pipelines, storage tanks, and terminal facilities from premature deterioration and structural failure.
With extensive expertise in corrosion control and asset integrity management, Precision Inspect provides end-to-end CP services – encompassing design, installation, commissioning, and performance evaluation – in accordance with NACE, ISO, and DNV standards.
Depending on operational requirements, the following CP systems are deployed:
- Galvanic (Sacrificial Anode) Systems – Employing magnesium, zinc, or aluminum anodes to provide passive protection for small-scale or isolated assets without external power supply.
- Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) Systems – Utilizing inert anodes and a regulated DC power source to deliver long-term, adjustable protection suitable for extensive pipeline networks, tanks, and offshore facilities.
Our CP services typically include:
- System design and material selection
- Installation of anodes, rectifiers, and monitoring stations
- Baseline and potential surveys (ON/OFF readings)
- System commissioning and periodic performance assessment
Fabric Maintenance
In petroleum and process industries, fabric maintenance is essential for maintaining asset integrity under harsh environmental exposure and mechanical stress. Effective maintenance mitigates corrosion, extends equipment service life, and ensures continued compliance with operational safety and reliability requirements.
Precision Inspect delivers comprehensive fabric maintenance services tailored to both onshore environments, aligned with ISO 8501, NORSOK M-501, SSPC, and ICorr coating standards.
Our scope includes:
- Hydro Blasting – Application of ultra-high-pressure water jets for cleaning and surface preparation without substrate damage.
- Dry Abrasive Blasting – Use of controlled abrasive media to remove rust, scale, and contaminants, producing the required surface profile for coating adhesion.
- Coating Application – Complete coating system services, including surface preparation, specification, and application of high-performance coatings to prevent corrosion and degradation of metallic surfaces. All works are benchmarked against NACE and ICorr recommended practices.
- Hydrotesting – Verification of storage tank and piping integrity either pre-commissioning or post-repair, performed in compliance with API 650, API 653, and ASME B31.3 standards to confirm system fitness for service.
Through structured inspection and maintenance methodologies, Precision Inspect ensures that clients’ assets remain reliable, safe, and compliant with international integrity management standards.
